What types of patients will I be working with during my preceptorship?

At NextGen Psychiatry, you'll gain experience working with a diverse patient population, including adults, adolescents, and children, who are experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and psychotic disorders.

How much direct patient interaction will I have?

We believe in providing hands-on experience. You will have ample opportunities for direct patient interaction, including conducting initial assessments, participating in treatment planning, and observing and participating in therapy sessions, under the direct supervision of your preceptor.

Can I tailor my preceptorship to focus on specific areas of interest within psychiatry?

We understand that you may have specific areas of interest. We encourage you to discuss your goals with your preceptor, and we will make every effort to tailor your experience to align with your learning objectives, within the scope of our practice and patient needs.

What are the typical hours for a preceptorship, and how flexible is the scheduling?

We strive to accommodate your academic schedule. Typical hours are during our regular clinic hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We are open to discussing flexible scheduling options to best fit your needs. Please discuss your scheduling requirements with us during the application process.
